HOMECOMING
Aardvarks Celebrate the Spirit of OES HOMECOMING BRINGS EVERYONE TOGETHER FOR FUN AND SOCCER
H Donna Knight, Homecoming Chair
omecoming festivities took a quantum leap this year. Led by
Homecoming Chair Donna Knight, a group of parents organized floats, a pep squad, and a tug-of-war. By the time the parade began, more than a thousand people were in attendance. The evening also saw the
debut of a snack shack called Aardy’s Hut and a brand new press box. The crowd of students, parents, alumnae/i, faculty, and staff enjoyed the mild weather and chance
encounters with friends and classmates. A team of OES dancers gave a rousing performance, and the pep squad of Lower School students kept spirits high. The soccer teams did not fail to do their part for the
event. The girls defeated Riverdale 3-0, and then the boys rolled up a 6-0 victory against Corbett. Even the Oregon weather seemed to cooperate, with a warm, sunny afternoon followed by a full harvest moon shining down as Aardvarks celebrated the spirit of OES with bounteous good cheer and camaraderie.
