Aardvarks Go to State GIRLS WIN SOCCER TITLE,
RUNNER TAKES FIRST PLACE IN CROSS COUNTRY OES athletes stormed the state champion-
Middle School teams also got in on
ships this year, qualifying in every sport. Nick O. ’13 started the assault by qualifying as an individual in cross country and then winning the title. He ran the 5000-meter course at Lane Community College in 15:58. The volleyball team won the league title to qualify for the state playoffs but lost in the quarterfinals, ending up in sixth place. The soccer teams both won their leagues
and worked their way to the state finals, looking for a repeat of 2006 when both teams won state. Playing back-to-back on a cold, rainy Saturday, the girls defeated Valley Catholic 2-1 to take first place. The boys were disappointed in their ambitions, falling 2-1 to Riverdale, but still took home the second-place trophy.
