Come and join the fun at your local library! G

loucestershire libraries welcome young children and their families. They are free to join and children can have their first library card from birth. You can borrow all sorts of books for your baby and toddler, from board books and picture books to storybooks for children learning to read. Children’s talking books and DVDs are also available.

Many of our libraries have regular Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions - for babies up to 18 months and their grown ups! We also hold frequent Story times as well as a variety of activities for children and their families throughout the year.

Over the next few months Gloucestershire county libraries will be rolling out ‘Bookstart

Bear Club’! Children up to the age of 5 will be able to join the Bookstart Bear Club at their local county library. On joining your child will get a free pack with a Bookstart Bear passport and bookmark. Your child can collect stamps in their passport each time they take part in any library activity or borrow a book. Once your child has collected six stamps they will be awarded a certificate, there are 10 certificates to collect!
