Clapham offers great outdoor spaces and a family-friendly environment
Park estates. Its purpose is to refurbish, demolish and rebuild homes as well as provide support for residents in need. The estate as a whole is home to many majestic established trees and plants. Many of the specimens are covered by preservation orders and any trees felled will either be relocated or new trees planted in their place. The wider regeneration will create three hectares of usable green space, with well landscaped urban areas, secure courtyards for residents to use, local play areas and the whole neighbourhood will enjoy a new park. Each kitchen will have integrated recycling boxes plus onsite recycling stores will further encourage a green approach to waste. In addition, the development will have photovoltaic panels on the roof to generate renewable energy.
THE SITE:
Living at Clapham Park provides so much to enjoy within a short walk from your front door. Residents at The Cavendish Building will be a short walk from
Clapham South Tube station, and well placed to explore the new retail hubs at Poynders Parade, Kings Avenue and Streatham Place. Nearby the 220 acres of Clapham Common, a wonderful outdoor space for the local residents. Clapham Common’s multitude of bars, pubs and restaurants, are within walking distance from the development.
CONSTRUCTION:
The Cavendish Building- modern contemporary apartment building has been designed to fit the particular position within the park. Stylish open-plan interiors blend seamlessly with private outdoor space, creating a light filled living experience inside and out.
All the apartments in The Cavendish Building have been built to a high specification. The kitchens comprise an integrated oven with ceramic four ring halogen hobs, fridge-freezers, washing machines and dishwashers. All bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms are fitted with white suites and chrome heated towel rails. All the apartments have natural oak
flooring throughout the hallway and living area, the bedrooms are wool carpeted.
SUCCESS & THE FUTURE Metropolitan Clapham Park is responsible for the regeneration of the 150-acre Clapham Park estates. The first part of the regeneration, Boreal Gardens, was completed in 2011. The Cavendish Building will be ready for occupancy in spring 2013. The regeneration will deliver a modern and expertly managed residential quarter for the whole community. A mix of new homes, of both private and shared- ownership status, well- planned open spaces and new community facilities will energise the vibrant
community that already exists as well as attracting new
residents to the area. ■
