WHAT’S NEW CROSBY UNVEILS THE EASY-LOC™ BOLT SECUREMENT SYSTEM The Crosby Group is pleased to introduce the new
The Crosby Easy-Loc™ eases the bolt installation with
Crosby Easy-Loc™ Bolt Securement System. The patent pending system utilizes a hinged split collar assembly that eliminates the traditional threaded bolt, nut and cotter pin. For heavy lifting applications, the Crosby Easy-Loc™ system coupled with the industry leading Crosby shackles provides many features that will simplify the lifting experience. The Crosby Easy-Loc™ will be standard on 125 metric ton through 300 metric ton Crosby G-2160 Wide Body Shackles and G-2140 Alloy Shackles.
no heavy nuts to lift. When compared to the nuts used with the traditional system, the hinged collar provides up to a 70% weight reduction. In addition, the new bolt securement system eliminates the loss of the cotter pin. The hinged split collar “retention bolt” is permanently affi xed for easy access and to prevent loss. WHAT’S NEW KINEDYNE ANNOUNCES ENHANCEMENTS TO LOAD BINDER PRODUCT LINE
Kinedyne recently revised its chain/load binder product off ering to become fully compliant with newly released industry standards. For the fi rst time in history, the Web Sling and Tie-Down Association (WSTDA) recently published a set of recommended standards for load binders. In the spring of 2011, the association released the publication, “WSTDA T-6 Recommended Standard Specifi cation for Load Binders Used with Chain Tie-Downs,” after a lengthy review of the matter. WSTDA is a technical association dedicated to the development and promotion
of voluntary recommended standards. Members of the WSTDA include a wide variety of manufacturers and suppliers of synthetic lifting and tie-down products, as well as transport chains and load binders. The new standard will help to ensure a minimum level of quality and traceability for all load binders. The changes
to Kinedyne load binders were made in anticipation of action by federal and local enforcement agencies to eventually adopt the new standard into existing cargo securement regulations. Ralph Abato, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Kinedyne, is a 28-year veteran of the industry. He has also
worked closely with the WSTDA for more than 20 years and currently holds the title of Vice President of the association as well as a position on the Board of Directors of the group. “The WSTDA is a widely recognized and respected group that many in our industry look to for leadership and guidance,” says Abato. “Since no regulations previously existed for load binders, the new standard will help customers qualify their vendors and select those who provide safe and durable products that meet their cargo securement needs and meet all relevant industry standards. Kinedyne’s investment in our load binder product line will reinforce how committed the company is to providing the highest quality products in the industry.” Kinedyne customers will eventually receive shipments of the improved binders—featuring all-new marking and labeling enhancements—once current inventories are depleted from stock on a part-number-specifi c basis. WHAT’S NEW TALURIT INTRODUCES NEW HIGH-PERFORMANCE CUTTING MACHINE
The LK 40 hydraulic shear cutting machine is ideal for cutting wire rope in a safe and eff ortless manner. The machine is designed for effi ciency and is very cost-eff ective. The LK 40 has a capacity to cut up to Ø 40 mm of the ordinary single layer round strand ropes, grade 1 960. The key components are made from high-quality steel, which means durability and reliability. Features of the LK 40 include easy and accessible design,
allowing quick insertion of wire rope and effi cient operation; an automatic switch to stop the motor after each cutting operation; and a press-down foot pedal to start a new cutting operation. When designing the new LK 40, operator safety was an important factor. Each side is equipped with protective rubber fl aps, while still maintaining easy insertion of the wire rope. Furthermore, the foot pedal, which controls the hydraulic unit, allows the operator the use of both hands during the entire cutting operation. The most common model is mounted vertically on a
stand; however, The LK 40 can also be placed on a wagon for easy cutting close to the fl oor, or mounted on a bench, giving the machine a stable operating base. For more information, visit
