FORGED ONE LINK AT A TIME:

NACM 80TH ANNIVERSARY Celeb ates

It’s hard to imagine a time before the advent of chains and the chainmaking industry. Since the colonial era, when blacksmiths labored over smoky forges, crafting links one at a time, the industry and its national trade association have developed into strong and enduring forces—one painstaking link at a time.

NACM members supply hooks and other attachments as well as chain.

In 2013, the National Association of Chain

Manufacturers (NACM), originally known as T e Chain Institute, will celebrate its 80th anniversary. One of the oldest industrial trade associations in the country, NACM has guided chain manufacturing through periods of rapid expansion, recovery, automation, and innovation, and now provides specifi cations to a wide array of other American industries. NACM’s member fi rms are equally dedicated and distinguished: most of them have been in the chainmaking business in excess of eight decades, and some for more than a century.
