Freddie Rebels Switch Up Barely worth mentioning, but duly noted, Freddie Rebels

Neighborhood Sports Bar & Grille, located at 5310 Shirley Street, went through an abrupt changing of the guard in early September. Another

local couple had subleased the venue from veteran

restaurateurs Fadi Rabil and Chrissy Bianchi-Rabil, so their midnight move out not only left vendors and staff waiting on payments that would never come, but it also forced the original owners to return to the bar’s helm. Despite being stripped of all valuables and

remaining food inventory left behind to rot, Freddie Rebels barely missed a beat, reopening in less than a week. Surely, our low expectations can only be exceeded by this changeup! Although the entertainment schedule on www.freddierebels.com

appears to be current, the website’s blog was last updated in March... so we recommend calling ahead! 239-597-3333

Naples Int’l Film Festival 2012

The mission of the Naples International Film Festival is to celebrate independent film and filmmakers in an intimate festival setting that enhances the cultural and artistic life of our community. – www.naplesfilmfest.com

Sponsors, donors, members, patrons, local and

visiting filmmakers, and especially a team of local volunteers, all contributed to the tremendous success

of this year’s fourth annual Naples International Film Festival. The much publicized four day event took place on November 1-4, 2012, kicking off with a glamorous sold-out opening night gala at the Naples Philharmonic. Films in the competition screened at the Silverspot Luxury Cinema at Mercato. In total, 40 features, documentaries and short films were shown.

NIFF not only gave filmgoers an opportunity to see some quality under-the-radar independent flicks, but also offered a chance to meet the filmmakers, producers and actors behind the silver screen. Film festivals in general grant filmmakers a unique opportunity to showcase their work in a constructive arena, allowing the film to speak for itself and perhaps be discovered at the same time. NIFF also included panel discussions, Q&A sessions after screenings, several parties, and a closing night ceremony. A full list of NIFF’s 2012 winners can be found online at www.naplesfilmfest.com. Editor’s Note: Pulse Nightclub YES it’s true - a venue called Pulse Nightclub & Lounge very

recently opened in downtown Fort Myers at 1527 Hendry Street. NO they aren’t affiliated with Pulse Magazine SWFL. Located in the building previously known as LEVEL Nightclub,

we heard they had a strong start with an at-capacity grand opening party on November 24th. So we understand the confusion, but for now, this magazine only covers nightlife!
