Series 3 Lightweight

Now at this point I really thought I’d made a big mistake.

It was heavy, clunky and larger than what I was used too with the SJ410. It was hard going

trying to drive this unfamiliar beast of a vehicle through two large towns in the dark damp January rush hour evening. We made it though through the traffic and eventually got onto some main roads near Duxford and eventually onto the A11. At this point my friend who I was following had to divert off to Cambridge as he had arranged to pick somebody up, he said he would catch me up in Norwich, so we parted ways. Once on the A11 the lightweight settled down to a steady 60 mph, it was noisy but felt very secure and solid and I started to feel confident with it. All was well and I was now enjoying the experience, then near Wymondham, Norfolk doing 60 mph it started to weave and wobble, I slowed down and pulled into a slip way on the side of the road and as I did, there was a large bang, the rear end dropped and as I looked out of the passenger window I saw the rear wheel roll past and head off into the ditch.
