My Landy at the equator in Uganda. There is a small curio store there and the owner has installed three basins of water there, one about 50m south of the equator, one on the line, and one about 50m north of the equator. (You can see the basin on the equator in the pic). For a $10 fee, he will show you how the water drains clockwise in the south, anti-clockwise in the north, and straight out on the equator. The funny thing is that I checked with my modern GPS and the real equator is actually about 150m away from the line across the road . You can see the reflective triangle on the front bulbar. This is fairly common practice because most countries require you to carry triangles, and having it in plain view makes police road blocks just that little bit easier rather than having to fumble about in the back of a messy truck to find your triangle.
