Editor’s Intro Are you ready for winter?

With the onset of the dark nights and cold mornings it is worth taking an hour and checking your Land Rover is set for the chilly part of the year.

Is your battery up to spec? A slightly ill battery will fail at the first sign of a cold morning. Check your lights and indicators are working correctly. Coolant is obviously very important at this time of year and a flush through and refill with new appropriate coolant is certainly a good move. It should help with the heating in your series truck too! Make sure your tyres are correctly inflated and suitable for the wet/icy days. If they are getting a bit low on tread it may be time to invest in some new boots. Alternatively if you are fortunate enough to have a winter set of wheels and tyres then it is about time to fit them, maybe a bit late for some our friends north of the border. General checks for oil, brakes and wipers are run of the mill for us hardened Landy drivers as are many other things but just take a few extra minutes on the overall condition of your vehicle and look forward to a happy and safe winter in your Land Rover.

All the best, Twiggy.
