Series 3 Lightweight

I have took the lightweight to two off-roading events so far, both this past summer (2010). One was at

Rougham Airfield, nr Bury St Edmunds ,organised by the Suffolk Land Rover Club and one at Bircham Newton, nr King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

Both events were fantastic and I learnt a lot about how capable the lightweight is off-road.

After some research I have discovered that my lightweight served with the RAF, in the Tactical Supply Wing. This part of the RAF were responsible for refuelling helicopters and other aircraft in the field. It regularly served on the NATO Northern Flank in Denmark, Norway and Germany. It was a winterised Land Rover with the big heater and lots of duct work inside. An ex RAF person who was kind enough to supply me with some information said when it served in these areas it was painted in a White and Black camouflage pattern. I have often seen its brother at Land Rover shows and at the NEC on the Ex Military Land Rover stand.
