ON TRACK Missed out on a
College course? If you missed our main enrolment, these exciting courses are ideal. They are designed for people aged 16-18 who are looking to return to education. They are shorter courses than traditional ones and they run throughout the year. They are designed to give you an introduction to a range of work-related subjects, while brushing up on your maths and English. You’ll also enhance your personal and social development and enterprise skills. Once you’ve completed the On Track course, you’ll be in a great position to continue your education by enrolling on a full-time programme of your choice – or be ready for employment.

Art, Design and Creative Studies (BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media
and Production) This course introduces you to the media industry. You’ll get a good introduction to the basic skills and techniques of TV and fi lm production. You will explore the creative potential of single camera lens focusing on the three stages of production: pre-production, shooting, and post-production. Once you have developed skills and shot your video, you will then use the post-production studios to edit together your shots. You will learn how to use iMovie to produce the music video. Your completed work will then be pressed onto DVD to show family and friends – and employers to illustrate your ability to create a contemporary music video.

Business This course gives you the opportunity to develop your communication, fi nance and study skills. BTEC and IFS (Institute of Financial Services) certifi cates are awarded on successful completion of the course, which could also enable you to progress onto a BTEC Diploma in Business course. 80% of last year’s students are currently studying on a Business level 3 course at the College.
