Part 1 This introductory hospitality course is ideal for people with learning diffi culties. You will help to run the Essential Café, based at the College, one day a week.

Entry Level Certifi cate in Hospitality and Catering


Part 2 This is a natural progression on completion of the Catering entry level 1 course. You will improve your skill set in hospitality and help to run the Essential Café, based at the College, one day a week. The course is suitable for people with learning diffi culties.


Entry requirements: College interview or entry level 1 in Hospitality and Catering.


Possible next steps: Hospitality NVQ Level 1.


Catering Certifi cate (NVQ) This course is designed for people who wish to embark on a career as a professional chef in the catering and hospitality sector - and for people interested in front-of-house operations within the sector. You will be expected to prepare and cook a range of dishes while the investigative and theoretical units provide a broad understanding of all kitchen and front-of-house operations. This qualifi cation is achieved with a combination of practical assignments and externally set assignments.


Entry requirements: English and maths at grade D or above.


Possible next steps: Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery or NVQ Professional Cookery.
