Level 1 Introduction to Building Services - Electrical
Installation This is an EAL NVQ qualifi cation where you will learn the basics of electrical installation. It’s a one year, full-time course which covers health and safety, lighting systems, power systems and how to use materials of the trades. Most of the course is practical- based, but there are a number of written assignments to be completed.
Entry requirements: College interview and assessment.
Possible next steps: Employment or higher level courses.
Level 2 Certifi cate in
Electrotechnical Technology Gain technical knowledge and achieve a recognised qualifi cation to enable you to work in the electrical industry. The course covers practical installation work, IEE regulations and electrical science and technology.
Entry requirements: Internal assessment and interview and level 2 equivalent in maths, English and science.
Possible next steps: City & Guilds Level 3.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION Level 3 Certifi cate in
Electrotechnical Technology You will gain a higher level of technical knowledge and if successful, will achieve a recognised qualifi cation. This will allow you to work in the electrical industry. Level 3 is the minimum qualifi cation required to be graded as an electrician.
Entry requirements: Level 2 electrical installation course.
Possible next steps: Employment.
