Decade of the

Greenhouse Toy Fair, the only dedicated toy, games and

hobby trade exhibition in the UK, will celebrate ten years of the Greenhouse area this January.

An initiative started in 2003, the Greenhouse area was created to highlight new companies and entrepreneurs to the toy industry. Since its inception, the area has grown in stature and become a popular destination for companies new and old. Regulars to the Greenhouse including Battlefront Miniatures, Cambridge Brainbox, Commotion Group, Maxim, Salepoint and Scoobits will be among the 40 companies exhibiting in the area in 2013.

Over the ten years, the Greenhouse area has acted as an initial launch pad for success within the toy industry. West Design and Micro Scooters both fi rst exhibited at Toy Fair in the Greenhouse area and for 2013 have taken stands of 48m2 and 42m2 respectively on the main fl oor plan. “Micro Scooters look forward to the London Toy Fair each year. The

Greenhouse area gave us a fantastic opportunity to showcase our award winning products close to other brands in the same segment,” commented Nathan Ridgard, General Sales Manager at Micro Scooters. “The Greenhouse area always draws a high visitor footfall which makes our days busy and productive. It is a fantastic place to begin your journey and offers a helping hand into the toy industry.” “Year after year the Greenhouse area attracts innovative and creative new companies,” commented Simon Pilling, Head of Toy Fair Operation and Sales. “2013 is no exception and is proving more popular than ever as the area is fully subscribed with a growing waiting list.” Toy Fair, taking place 22-24 January 2013, will celebrate another landmark date when the doors open at West London’s Olympia as it will mark the exhibition’s Diamond Jubilee.

China Toy Expo bigger

and better

China Toy Fair, the three-day event for sourcing toys, baby articles and licensing products, grew in both overall visitors and event scale increasing 20% and 35% respectively, this year. Compared with last year, the overseas

professional visitors in this year saw a 25% growth.

As a unique highlight of the China Toy Expo, over 87% of Chinese exhibitors in the expo are factories from about 20 major production regions manufacturing wide range of products including models, dolls, wooden toys, plastic & electronic toys, playground equipment, and plush toys etc. The event is expected to be even larger in next year, as over 81 percent of the exhibitors have already said they will be there again and more new toy manufacturers expressed their wishes to participate. Next year the show will be held from Tuesday to Thursday, October 15-17, 2013.
