Shopping4Fans has a broad marketing plan in which to ensure that fans of brands can find us. The fans of the brands that we work with will be able to see us on social media sites, blogs, forums, relevant sports, film and music portals, SEM campaigns, at important events, on key magazines and newspapers as well as through co-marketing initiatives with our clients.

“ How do the sales work?

New shopping events will be run daily and will typically last for two to four days. The members of Shopping4Fans will be informed by email or mobile alerts of the shopping events that will be of interest to them. Why are they operated with such short time frames?

Shopping4Fans only has limited quantities of the items within a shopping event so the products will be sold in the first day or two. In addition, since we are offering products at reduced prices, we place the order with the brands at the end of a shopping event, so to ensure that our members receive their products as quickly as possible, the shorter the event, the quicker the members will receive their orders.

What do you offer the brands/suppliers? Excess stock is a major problem in the industry since there are no controlled distribution channels for brands to dispose of such stock to a select audience whilst avoiding brand erosion. Shopping4Fans is the first internet shopping club in the world that focuses uniquely on the licensed merchandise industry.

How are you different from short-sales sites like Groupon and Wahanda?

Shopping4Fans is a members-only, internet shopping club in which members get access to limited-in-time shopping events. Only

limited items are available so members must react quickly to get what they want. Shopping4Fans will then send the products directly to the members’ homes.

Groupon and Wahanda are daily deal sites in which customers buy vouchers to primarily service- oriented offerings such as spas, beauty treatments and restaurants. The member must then redeem their vouchers directly with the vendor.

How big a problem is overstock in licensed merchandise, particularly toys? Through our relationships and discussions with brand owners and licensees (and retailers), it is estimated that overstock is anything from 10 to 30% depending on the different product categories, and sometimes runs as high as 40% for some brand owners.
