LeapFrog welcomes Martin Lefranc


Martin Lefranc has joined the LeapFrog UK marketing team as acting CRM & Online Marketing Manager EMEA, to cover for Victoria Storey while she is on maternity leave.


Martin brings a wealth of digital experience to his new role from a wide range of sectors, including the pharmaceutical, fi ne wine and banking industries. Previous positions include almost two years as Web Coordinator at Armit Wines in London and three years as Digital Consultant at GlaxoSmithKline in Belgium. Martin will be responsible for driving LeapFrog’s social media initiatives and managing all CRM activity across the UK, EMEA and Australasia. Martin comments: “I have been at LeapFrog for just a few weeks and already feel like part of the team. It’s great to be joining at such an exciting time for the company and I’m really looking forward to what the coming months have in store.” Samantha Harris, UK & EMEA Head of Marketing Communications at LeapFrog, adds: “We are pleased to welcome Martin to the team and believe he will make a great addition to the marketing division. Little Tikes’ Gerry Tekerian to retire


MGA Entertainment has announced that Little Tikes European Manager Gerry Tekerian will be retiring having been with the iconic toy brand for over 15 years.


Gerry joined Little Tikes in 1997 while the brand was under the ownership of Rubbermaid. He continued in the role through the Newell Rubbermaid merger as well as its acquisition in 2006 by MGA Entertainment. It is this experience that has seen Gerry take the pivotal role for the management and development of the brand across Europe. Speaking about Gerry’s career at Little Tikes,


Andrew Laughton, MGA Entertainment, UK Managing Director said: “Little Tikes owes much of its success and its reputation as the leading brand of quality outdoor toys to Gerry. Indeed there are few people in the industry who can claim to have helped maintain a No1 brand positioning for the duration of their time in one company, but with the success of the Cozy Coupe - Gerry is one of them!” Gerry’s illustrious career in toys did not begin with Little Tikes, indeed before joining the brand he had enjoyed 18 years as Marketing Manager for Matchbox toys. Starting in the days when Matchbox was produced in Hackney when the company was run by Les Smith & Jack Odell, Gerry began as product manager on plastic kits. He then managed the die-cast range, including the ‘Models of Yesteryear’ range and was hugely infl uential in acquiring the DINKY brand along with Nick Austin in the mid 80’s. Gerry stayed with the Matchbox brand through its acquisition by Tyco Toys until 1995. Andrew Laughton added: “Gerry’s journey

TOMY Europe has added a new member to its Agriculture Division based in Exeter. Lauren Kennedy joins the marketing team taking over from Harriet Lampard as Product Development Executive. With a sound marketing background, Lauren will primarily be


responsible for product planning and development within the Agriculture team as well as assisting with marketing activities and liaising with licensees. Lauren will also have an important role in the planning and organisation of trade fairs as well as managing the production of product catalogues.

Development Manager for Amethyst


Amethyst Group, the UK’s largest Toy logistics provider, has appointed a new Business Development Manager responsible for growing their existing Toys and Consumer Goods division. John Hayward brings a wealth of experience from a retail and food logistics background and is excited to be involved in the Toys and Games sector. Prior to this appointment John was a Business Development Manager at Wincanton, where he was primarily responsible for developing and delivering supply chain solutions for multiple retailers and supermarkets. Amethyst’s Strategic Business Development Peter Hughes commented “We are really pleased to have John on board. His knowledge of logistics and track record in delivering best in class solutions for clients will be fundamental in developing our Toys and Consumer Goods offering across our wholesale, retail and fulfi lment operations.”

Gerry plans to enjoy his new found freedom with his wife Francesca of 39 years, who has also recently retired from a long career as a teacher. Gerry and Francesca have 3 children and are looking forward to spending some of their free time pursuing their love of travel.
