As the world goes Secret Agent crazy, Hasbro, Inc. the makers of Furby have given the UK’s favourite furry friend a makeover worthy of 007. Just like the world’s most famous spy, Furby is sporting a sharp suit and a look that would melt any girl’s heart. The idea of Furby as a top-secret spy is not that far-fetched - the cuddly creature was classifi ed as a threat to national security in 1999 by US National Security Agency.

Early November will see a new Sticker Collection launch from Panini which will have 208 stickers to collect. Other product coming to market before the end of this year includes, puzzles from Ravensburger, dog tags and slap wrist watches from The In Thing, nightwear from Aykroyds TDP and t-shirts from Somerbond. Exciting new product lines from further licensees, which now total 20, will majorly expand the licensed product range from Spring 2013.

Golden Bear signs master toy licence for hit CBeebies show

In a three-year deal covering plush, feature plush, animated plush, plastic toys, and electronic toys, Golden Bear beat stiff competition from rival bids in order to secure the rights to this innovative multi-media series. Woolly and Tig was offered for licensing for the fi rst time at the Brand Licensing Show in London last week and is being represented worldwide by Brands with Infl uence. Woolly, a cuddly spider, took the show by storm, and has kicked off a vibrant licensing programme, supported by a signifi cant demand from retailers at the show. Christine Nicholls, Product and Marketing Director, Golden Bear Toys, said:

‘The Woolly and TIG master toy license is a great coup for Golden Bear and we look forward to developing a fabulous range for this great property. Our team has many years’ experience within the pre-school sector, and together with the creators of Woolly and Tig we feel we can bring something really special to market.’

NSA’s headquarters in Maryland as offi cials wondered if the interactive toy might remember top government secrets and repeat them to the general public. Furby has had an incredibly warm welcome since returning in September. Whilst it is still unclear whether Furby would be allowed into the NSA’s HQ, the furry plush will defi nitely be topping many childrens’ Christmas lists this year.
