Introduction to Learning and Teaching in HE Brief outline:
Concentrates on how to gain experience as a university teacher and covers the ‘status’ and ‘value’ of teaching, research informed teaching, meeting the teaching needs of academic institutions, the REF and teaching, understanding the differences between lecture, tutorial and seminar teaching, confidence building, teaching interviews (how to give a teaching skills presentation), and issues involved in undertaking academic assessment.

This workshop will explore all aspects of developing, recording and maximising impact from our research and knowledge exchange activity. It will explore impact in relation to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and look at the concept of social return on investment.
