COSHH Risk Assessment Target audience:


Required for Head of Departments, departmental Health and Safety co-ordinators and staff required to use or supervise the use of Substances Hazardous to Health.


What you can expect to learn:


• Information provided by the manufacturers/suppliers via ‘Safety Datasheets’


• How to prepare and implement a COSHH assessment • The role of the supervisor/health and safety representative • Risk assessment process • Accident and incident reporting and investigation • Active and reactive monitoring techniques

First Aider Training


The University ensures sufficient staff are qualified in first aid as required by law and provides a First Aiders training programme for staff appointed as First Aiders.


Any members of staff wishing to volunteer to become first aiders are welcome to contact the Health and Safety department. All applications for training will be considered according to the criteria outlined in the First Aid policy (see the Health and Safety webpages).
