An online workbook is provided to guide you on how to do this and a dedicated member of the Sustainability team will support you. Staff are encouraged to recruit students to join their teams.
Briefing sessions will be run at the beginning of the academic year and publicised widely.
The Futures Initiative Development Centre
The University is committed to significantly enhancing the curriculum to support the inclusion of sustainability principles. We aim to introduce students to new mind sets and strategies to prepare them for their future, and to be able to tackle environmental and social issues.
Curriculum Development Centres will be run during the year, depending on demand, via a series of facilitated workshops.
So, come along, bring a friend, find out about last year’s projects and make a bid of your own.

Fire Induction Training Target audience:
Requirement for new staff or staff members with a new role or location who have not previously attended training.
All staff should also complete the e-learning module on Fire Safety available via the Staff Development webpages.
Brief outline:
Induction session covering essential fire safety, held monthly. All new staff should attend within their first few weeks of joining.

Practical Fire Safety Training
Target audience: Fire Marshalls, Building Wardens and staff responsible for safety in their area of work. Of particular value to Security Staff.
Brief outline:
This practical course takes place at the Headquarters of Fire Security at Aylesham. Delegates will have the opportunity to fight small fires. Course includes a certificate on completion.
Led by: Fire Security at Aylesham and University Fire Safety Advisor.
