Bella Hardy’s Bright Morning Star FOLK MUSIC AT CENTRE STAGE

Sunday nights at Centre Stage, Bournemouth is the place to go if you want to see some of the very best of the vibrant UK folk scene. Throughout November and December, you can enjoy some of this country’s finest folk music. On Sunday 04 November, BBC Folk

Award stars Jonny Kearney and Lucy Farrell will perform. The duo is an unlikely alliance – Jonny with his bittersweet kitchen-sink dramas, reminiscent of Dylan and Tom Waits and Lucy’s traditional folk fiddle-singing. They have received excellent reviews for their gigs with Bellowhead.

Centre Stage looks forward to welcoming Boo Hewerdine on Sunday 25 November. Boo is widely regarded as a folk songwriting legend; best known

for collaborations with Eddi Reader (he wrote Patience Of Angels, Bell Book and Candle) and plays lead guitar in her band. Boo’s songs tell stories and create atmosphere as revealed when he appeared on the Andrew Marr Show on Sunday morning.

On Sunday 02 December, young Bella

Hardy, winner of Best Original Song at the BBC Folk Awards 2012, presents her glittering Christmas Show ‘Bright Morning Star.’ Scots guitarist Anna Massie (of the Celtic band Blazing Fiddles) and concertina genius Chris Sherburn (of Last Night’s Fun).
