Thomas Comedy

BY CHANTELLE MCINNES Mark

@ THE POINT, EASTLEIGH - 23 NOVEMBER After walking the wall in the West Bank, becoming Guinness World Record holder for political protests, and chasing arms dealers around the country, one of Britain’s most acclaimed comics and influential activists, Mark Thomas turns his attention to matters closer to home with a show about his father. Tickets cost £16.50. The performance commences at 8pm.

NORMAN LOVETT @ WINCHESTER DISCOVERY CENTRE, WINCHESTER - 09 NOVEMBER Wine, cheese and comedy: some things are just arguably better when they’re vintage! There’s something intrinsically inviting about the news of a star from a cult TV show making reappearance at a local venue. Listed are pleased to announce the arrival of Norman Lovett, (aka Holly the AI computer from Red Dwarf), at Winchester Discovery Centre. Lovett’s style of delivery is deadpan, and many of his gags have a self-deprecating vibe about them. Book early to secure your seats…and launch yourself into laughter, Lovett style!

Tickets cost £12. The show commences at 7.30pm. For more information, visit www3.hants.gov.uk/wdc

CHRIS MOYLES @ 02 ACADEMY, BOURNEMOUTH - 16 NOVEMBER After enchanting the airwaves with his offbeat one-liners, the King of Cooltopia is bringing his witty warblings direct to the masses in person. Step forward Chris Moyles: it’s time to take your comic crown! Moyles’ quirky and brazen presenting style has won him many fans and he has been a refreshing antidote to pre-planned presenters; some of his off the cuff comments are pure, comedic gold! Add to this his deliciously dry-witted sidekick, Comedy Dave, and you have a recipe that should be the breakfast show blueprint for radio to come. This month sees him paying a hotly-anticipated visit to Bournemouth, so expect the unexpected. Improvisation just got that bit cooler.

Doors open at 7pm. For more information, visit www.02academybournemouth.co.uk

JETHRO @ KINGS THEATRE, SOUTHSEA - 20 NOVEMBER All right my lovers? No? Well fear not because Cornish funny-man Jethro is here to change that. A comic veteran, Jethro has been performing to audiences up and down the land for over 20 years, armed with enough titillating tales to make your Granny blush like a schoolgirl. He is a master of the ‘shaggy-dog story’ style of comedy: where details are divulged gradually until the complete tale is finally revealed. So if you like your humour articulate, amusing and anecdotal, this is definitely the must-see show for you.

Tickets cost £19.50. The performance commences at 7.30pm. For more information, visit www.kings-southsea.com
