ew technology enables carpet mills to produce much softer yarns in synthetic fibers such as nylon,


polyester, triexa, and now silk, which is the softest of all. Stain protections and resistance to pet stains are considerably better, and warranties are longer. The only negative to softer yarns is that vacuum marks and footprints are more visible. Textured looking yarns are more popular, because they are easier to maintain and also enhance focal points in rooms. Cut and Loop patterns are also popular since mills are able to produce patterned carpet in synthetic fibers.
