Park was the chosen location for a scene in new film Te World’s End, from the award-winning team behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Site preparation took place on Friday, September 29 with filming on Monday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 3. Te film company provided security for the prepared site and based their large vans, catering, make-up, and support vehicles on the car boot sale field on Lower Road in Nash Mills.

Rachel Kennedy, unit publicity, told My Hemel & Leverstock Green News a bit about the film. She said: “Twenty years after attempting an epic pub crawl in their home town, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again.

“As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise reaching the fabled pub, Te World’s End, is the least of their worries.”

of the perfect site and were interested in Longdean Park because private estates provide a quiet and controlled area for filming.

Te house on Highclere Drive was selected due to the rising entrance and garden which was ideal for filming from below and a small wall at the front of the house which was essential to the interaction between actors in the scene.

Te location manager visited the neighbours to ask

if some vehicles could be parked on their driveways. Te Longdean Park Residents Association agreed to the filming and will receive a payment of £500 to compensate for inconvenience.

Te World’s End is due to be released in 2013. by Emily Ansell
