Tama uses what I call anchor statements – statements of deeper truth she has recognized as true when she is centered and at peace. One of her anchor statements is, “I am meant to succeed in the work I love.” She calls on this statement again and again as a reminder to her small, fearful self that success “…isn’t in the details. It’s in the destiny.”

She also recommends meditation, journaling and talking to a therapist or coach as means through which limiting beliefs can be recognized, challenged and dissolved. At the back of her book she includes many potent practices and exercises to help you do just that.

One of the practices she suggests in her book, the “win list,” is a favorite of mine. She talked about it during our interview as a way of not creating limiting beliefs to begin with. It trains your mind to recognize - and identify with - everything that’s going right. And when you ground yourself in the many things that are unfolding beautifully, you’re less likely to make up stories about all the ways things can go wrong.

Keeping a win list is simple, but don’t underestimate its potency. As the name implies, the idea is to write a list of your “wins” each day. Tama suggests challenging yourself to identify at least ten of them, and she speaks passionately about acknowledging yourself for the inner shiſts you’ve made – such as recognizing an old fear and choosing not to act on it – as well as any steps you’ve taken toward your

dreams, regardless of whether they have yet generated a specific outcome. If you said the “right” thing to a prospective client or sent out a manuscript – that goes on the win list, right now. (And hey, if you have a good hair day – include that, too!)

You will find other powerful practices and exercises in Inspired & Unstoppable, which I hope by now you can’t wait to buy. Maybe you already have, and if so I hope you’re as inspired by it as I am.

Tama is exquisitely giſted at helping us all recognize and honor the giſts in ourselves, which speak to us through our dreams – our soul’s longings to create, share, give and experience. She said in our conversation that it is our dreams that are real – everything else isn’t. Everything else comes from the fearful, smaller self. What you know when you’re excited and inspired and in love – that’s what is real.

Let that sink in as deeply as you can: Your dreams are real. Everything else isn’t.

As Tama says eloquently and repeatedly, your dreams are coming to you for a reason. Everyone’s giſts are here for the whole, for the planet. Tere are people who need you and exactly what you have to give.

And when you follow your dreams, you will find a completely different self. Te very choice to honor your longings will set you on a path of unraveling your limiting beliefs. It cannot be otherwise. You become the “you” you are meant to become, living

Tama points out that many people have not chosen their right lives, yet they call it “realistic.” Tey think it is safe. But Tama reminds us that “…it is no longer safe to deny the safest thing inside you.”

So let’s create a world that acknowledges the only way to be safe is to be fully, gloriously who you are. Let’s choose to be inspired and unstoppable. And let’s do it, as Tama says, not just to “make it in the world…but to remake the world.”

Amen, sister.
