U– Understand

It’s important to understand why CPD is required of you as a Chartered Accountant, it’s even more important to understand that it is not an insurmountable problem.

A good place to start would be to take a look at CARB‘s own website, www.carb.ie/cpd. It contains some really useful FAQs. Also well worth a look are the excellent case studies which very clearly illustrate how people in different roles meet their cpd requirements.

Our job in Chartered Accountants Ireland is to help you, not scare you. This is your Institute and we work for you. We want to help you the member.

So do whatever it takes; phone us, email us, hunt us down if you are in the building. Stalk us on linkedin if necessary. Did you know there is a hunting telephone line in the Professional Development department.

If you dial 01 5233930 you will get

through directly to someone in the CPD team. Even if we can’t answer the question immediately we will make it our business to find someone who can. If you prefer, you can always email us at cpd@charteredaccountants.ie. This mailbox is continuously monitored by someone on the team.

Whatever you do please talk to us, the worst thing you can do is ignore it and hope it will go away. It won’t.

Don’t bury your head in the sand!
