Jewellery for the Walls…

That is how Halliford based artist Claire Donahue describes her work which are highly textured and jewel like in vibrancy. She has been a local art teacher but since 2002 has been a professional artist and illustrator. More recently she had become involved in projects of Art as Therapy, helping people unlock inner feelings through painting. Claire got her break in establishing herself as a commercial artist however, when an unexpected opening came up for a piece for the London restaurant Nobu. Her work was so popular that she was asked for three more, to depict their food, and is now the only artist exhibiting there. As a result Claire has got com- missions from celebrities from foot- ballers to Bahrain royalty.

Her works are abstract representations, largely influenced by nature; foliage and rivers-capes particularly, using vibrant colours and texture and are of a great depth and richness, Closer to home you can view some of Claire’s pieces at the Bell, Book & Candle at 65 Thames Street in Lower Sunbury where works are for sale. Opening hours Thurs/Fri 10-5 and Saturday 10-6pm. Or have a look at the website: www.thebellbookandcandle.net
