For the record, and as most of you reading this interview already know, Pa modern-day Wild Bill Hickcock. A true pioneer, Colbert created and has bee

her mustang adoption rate, last we heard. Finally, someone has stepped up to necessary documentary, “Wild Horse, Wild Ride”, garnering over 18 indepen two city slickers, (hardly), Alexandra Dawson, Executiv

trueCOWBOYmagazine: Since your last interview with tCmag in 2010, what has transpired for you, Patti, and the Extreme Mustang Makeover events as far as audience size, notoriety and mustang adoption rates? Patti Colbert : Well, we had our first Extreme Mustang Makeover in 2007. Since that time we’ve had over 4200 wild horses trained and adopted. We filmed a documentary called “Wild Horse, Wild Ride” with Alexandra Dawson (Executive Producer) and her husband, Greg Gricus (Director). Our goal is to have 12 – 13 Extreme Mustang Makeover events across the country next year. We have 42,000 Facebook fans, 14,000 monthly e-newsletter blasts. It has been nothing less than a fast track since the beginning…it’s a horse race. These horses are pulling right along with the domestics. It takes humans to get horses adopted and this film gets people to see how and why it all works.

tCM: Tell us a little about Project Cowboy and Project Cowgirl? PC: Project Cowboy and Project Cowgirl is a competition on horseback whereby we try to find the best of the best horse people out there and make them a star. We have both competitions with television shows on RFD-TV in February 2013 with six prime time segments. After that, we’ll see.

tCm: Patti, are you happy with the results of the filmed depiction of, well, your life and path to the mustangs, in the debut documentary enti- tled “Wild Horse, Wild Ride”?
