gamesandpuzzles Spin Master
Spin Master are venturing into the Games market with a selection of fun, fast-paced games. Autumn sees the launch of Hedbanz for Kids, the quick question game of ‘Who am I’? where players work against the clock to figure out if the cartoon on their head is an animal, food or object. Hedbanz will be supported by a TV campaign throughout October and November alongside extensive PR. There is also a trickier Hedbanz for Adults version launching. From the app game comes two family versions of Temple Run. Aimed at kids aged eight plus, the electronic board game and the fast- action electronic card game require players to follow the Temple Idol’s instructions and try to beat him against the clock whilst being chased by demonic monkeys. Dr. Dreadful’s Scabs and Guts game has bucket-loads of gore and
gross humour, where the player with the cleanest fingernails goes first. Players must try to outwit each other by answering gruesome questions about science and the anatomy. Do parents really know everything? Or do the kids call the shots?
Beat The Parents puts kids’ and adults’ knowledge of the other generation to the test with silly questions as they make their way across the board. For ages six plus.

University Games
The return of Poppin Hoppies, from the 1970s, is aimed at children aged five to nine and was a winner at Toy Fair 2012. This action game features spring-loaded characters that are pushed down, then randomly pop into the air to be caught by players. University Games is investing in a heavyweight TV campaign during the Autumn, and this drive will be complimented by a three-month sponsorship deal with the children’s channel Tiny Pop. University Games’ 5 Second Rule and Smart Ass will also be supported by
TV advertising in the pre-Christmas period. This focused campaign shows commitment to ensure continued consumer demand and awareness of the company’s core games. The celebrity specials of the BBC 1 quiz show Pointless, hosted by Alexander Armstrong, have increased demand and awareness of the board game this year, and the non-celebrity shows maintain their daily prime-time spot. The launch of the travel version of the Pointless board game this Summer, with 120 new questions, has given consumers more options and driven sales. The Gruffalo remains a strong licence for University Games. The Gruffalo Word Rhyming Game is a high-volume seller, and the New Hide and
Seek Mini Game will be introduced for Autumn/Winter 2012. T: 03334 050 120 W:
