MACHINERY HAFFNER’S COMPETITIVE PRICES SEE SALES SOAR

Haffner GB Ltd is celebrating continued growth on sales of its new Machinery and Dave Tomas, Haffner’s MD thinks there are two simple reasons:

“Firstly, it’s to do with the pricing. Te

Euro exchange rate is very favourable for anyone buying from Europe, which makes purchasing a new machine from Europe a very attractive proposition. What’s more, Haffner machines are now manufactured in Istanbul, which has made a dramatic difference in manufacturing costs. We are now able to sell machinery with savings of up to 25% on some models.

And the other reason? “It’s the quality, it’s as simple as that. Te Haffner SBA-4 and SBA-

2, for example, has Hiwin bearings, Festo pneumatics and Beckhoff control systems and the output and build quality are second to none. Te machines are constructed with popular components used throughout the machinery world and are readily available from Haffner or a local supplier if needs be.”

One company that’s well aware of the value

a new Haffner machine can add to a business is Skyview Roofs Ltd. Te company recently invested in an SBA-2 machining centre which allows them to increase production capacity by over a third, improve overall quality and start manufacturing complex products such as triple cruciform windows and French/bi-fold doors without increasing overheads.

Prices for a new machining centre start

from £130,000 and with part-exchange deals of up to £30,000 available, the price of a new machine from Haffner can often be less than the cost of a refurbished one from other manufacturers. All new machines come with a two year warranty for complete peace of mind and Haffner even take care of the software link, a further £12,000 saving for the customer.

“Buying a reconditioned machine is a

perennially popular choice,” said Dave, “and if you do decide to go down that route, we have a selection of used machinery from single head welders to full machining centres at affordable prices. For example, a Stuga Ecoline at £25,000, a Stuga Microline at £65,000 and a Haffner SBA-4 at £75,000. We are flexible in arranging packages tailored to the individual customer and can offer finance subject to status. We also include delivery, installation and fitting in the price, so there are no hidden costs to factor in.”

HEGLA’S MARK OF QUALITY FIRMLY ETCHED

AT MID DEVON GLASS Product diversification and the long-term efficiency of Mid Devon Glass were the primary focus for senior management when making a recent investment in Hegla laser technology.

Having initially installed a cutting and loading system the company introduced a laminated solution as part of the existing installation to increase its product portfolio which caused a growth in production.

MD Kevin Squibb considered that the

Hegla pedigree had already proved itself after the cutting line installation with the build and quality of the engineering helping the company to become fully automated. Te choice to retrofit Hegla laser technology was brought about because of the positive impact Hegla cutting automation had

created in production. For Mid Devon Glass the purchase was considered a ‘lifetime investment’ as the reliability of the equipment could not be matched.

Te laser brings substantial time saving benefits in a number of ways including internal efficiency as nothing can be lost. Should any errors occur within batches then these can easily be traced and pinpointed which quickly speeds up the source of any problem.

Te technical benefits of the laser will

now simplify more complicated procedures such as triple glazing, which will become

an increasingly important element to production. As a fully automated system the laser will ensure that a lot of potential problems which can occur manually during the marking process are eliminated.

Te laser system gives the glass a unique number generated from the company’s production software which is easily identified as it moves down the production line and which ultimately improves the flow and enhances customer services.
