UPDATE CHARITY EVENTS


You may have heard by now that this year Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is celebrating its 21st Anniversary!


To ensure we recognised our milestone anniversary in style, we planned an action packed calendar of events with something for everyone to take part in! So far, over £55,000 has been raised from our events with many still to come! Read on for our round up of fundraising fun that took place earlier this year!


While we may be racing towards 2013, we still have plenty of events planned this autumn and right through the winter months that you can get invoved in! It is not too late to do something amazing this year! Whatever your hobby or chosen challenge, sign up and do something amazing in 2012 - help save lives.


FEBRUARY 2012 Landrover Experience


Weekend Solihull


Under expert instruction, motor fans got the chance to get behind the wheel and test their driving ability on the purpose built off road course. Kick starting the anniversary calendar of events, the one- hour driving challenge took place where


Land Rover tests their vehicles and enthusiasts had the chance to tackle the rugged landscape in a choice of four vehicles.


The experience challenge raised a fantastic £3,000 and Cat Mills, Event Organiser said; “Land Rover is proud to support the lifesaving charity. We were pleased to organise an event where the public could join our fundraising efforts.”


MARCH 2012


Valuation Day Malvern


March saw antiques expert Henry Sandon value hundreds of items at the biggest valuation day the charity has ever organised. Hundreds of visitors came along to Malvern Theatre to see if their family heirloom or dust covered attic ‘junk’ was worth a bob or two.


The event, in association with Bonhams raised a fantastic £700.


Event fundraiser Annie Newell said; “The event was a wonderful success, hundreds of people helped to raise donations and many went away with wonderful and surprising valuations of their hidden treasures.”


Abseiling RAF Museum, Cosford


30 supporters who wanted to add the fear factor to their fundraising efforts climbed down a 50ft sheer drop at RAF Museum, Cosford. Those taking part


abseiled from the viewing tower within the Cold War Exhibition and descended to the ground surrounded by missiles, aircraft and rockets. Event Fundraiser Maria Jones said; “The event was a unique fundraising experience and the fearless team involved raised a fantastic £2500!”

Pound the Bounds Rock, Shropshire


Working alongside the annual Pound the Bounds event, walking enthusiasts got the chance to do something they

love while raising money for their favourite cause! Sponsored walks for all abilities were organised by the village hall committee and 400 fundraisers took part and walked their choice of 6, 12, 18 or a gruelling 25 miles, in perfect British Spring Weather.


Their efforts raised over £1800 and fundraising manager Maria Jones said; “It was a fantastic day & a great event to be involved in. We are looking forward to working together next year too.”


AUGUST 2012


Charity Race Day Worcester Racecourse


The Charity Race Day took place at Worcester Racecourse on 21st August with over 100 guests including supporters, local businesses, horse racing pundits and


local press in attendance. A special marquee was positioned to give our guests exclusive access to view the races on what was a glorious day of racing and fundraising.


Each guest was greeted with drinks on arrival followed by a 3 Course Meal with a complementary Race Card and Exclusive Paddock Viewing. With an Expert Tipster and Bar Facilities, Betting Facilities the day was complete with over £5000 was raised through tickets sales and an auction and raffl e.
