Cheers Single enjoy monthly wine tasting

The Singles August wine tasting.

Ron Leimer, Publicity The monthly wine tasting took place at

Laurie Starr’s lovely home on Wednesday, August 8. Summer wines were presented; two white wines and two red wines were sampled by the group of 20 people. One- ounce samples of each wine were sniffed for the aroma, swirled around the glass and enjoyed by the members. Many wonderful appetizers made by the group were also enjoyed with vigor. Thanks for such great food to go with the wines! As conversation rose to a peak during a hot summer evening, we thanked Jerri Lecky for announcing the next wine. My whistle didn’t seem to get everyone’s attention, but Jerri gracefully called us to attention! Monthly wine tastings occur every

second Wednesday of the month, usually limited to 20 people depending on the hostess’s wishes and the size of the home. Micky O will be hosting in September, so if you’re interested sign up at the social held every Thursday afternoon at the Oakwood Country Club lounge. The summer has been hot, but our

weekly socials at the lounge have still had a number of people attending each week. Events are being planned for the fall so don’t miss out on the fun. Membership is open to all singles in Sun Lakes, Springfi eld, and SunBird. Jenny Truitt is our membership lady, so see her at the membership table in the lounge on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. or call her at 802-4739 for information on joining our group. 
