Sunday Night Couples Dance Club to meet September 16

Michael Rogers Welcome back everyone! It’s time to dance again! All members and any other Sun Lake


residents interested in visiting or joining the Club are invited for the fi rst dance of the season on Sunday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the San Tan Ballroom. We also extend an invitation to residents of SunBird, Solera and Springfi eld. We will enjoy music by Ron Yates, and suggested dress for the evening is country club casual. We do have openings in our membership and encourage couples interested in joining to contact Michael and Nancy Rogers at 480-895-5976. 


60 Plus Club news


Nancy Fisher, Publicity The 60 Plus Club is a large, not-for-profi t


club whose sole purpose is to provide fun and entertainment for its members. Dues are $7.50 per person per calendar year. Membership is open to any individual or married couple, one spouse of which is a minimum 60 years of age. September 12—Diamondbacks vs. LA

3:00 p.m. show. October 28—The Texas Tenors perform


with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall. The cost is $55 per person and includes bus, show and driver’s gratuity. Introduced to the nation on “America’s Got Talent,” The Texas Tenors combine their personal charisma and powerful harmonies as they perform a mixture of country, contemporary and operatic favorites including Deep in the Heart of Texas, Unchained Melody and many others. The bus departs Oakwood Arts & Crafts Center at 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. show. November


21-24—Las Vegas for


Thanksgiving. The cost is $599 pp double and $699 pp single occupancy. The cost includes: motor coach transportation; three nights at South Point Hotel (on Strip); cruise on Lake Meade with box lunch; breakfast daily;

Dahn Yoga classes September schedule

Cost: There is no cost; however, donations are accepted.

yoga mats in the room. Wear loose comfortable clothing. If you


cannot easily get up and down on the fl oor, the exercises can be done while sitting. Dahn Yoga is not traditional yoga but is


a system of renewing energy in the body and getting the energy fl owing. This is done by tapping the meridian lines,


stretching and twisting. These exercises also include SUN LAKES SPLASH


breathing techniques, energy movements, a bit of Qi Gong and relaxation. Participants report that they feel more energetic, have less pain or no pain and are more fl exible. Some sleep better. Come try it. Afternoon classes will begin in October.


There may be a Saturday morning class starting in October. 
