The Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza is a magnificent new meeting destination in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. Enjoy ice skating at the outdoor rink in the winter and summer concerts at the outdoor stage. The Civic Building is home to several concerts, festivals and community events such as the Silver Spring Jazz Festival, held annually in September with more than 20,000 attendees.


Silver Spring is designated as an Arts and Entertainment District and its re-development has brought about lively new art and cultural amenities, including the American Film Institute Silver Theatre and Cultural Center (AFI). A state-of-the-art facility, the AFI Silver presents American and world cinema, as well as filmmaker interviews, panels, discussions, musical performances and other events.


Round House Theatre Silver Spring provides an eclectic mix of theatre, music, and dance performances. Round House brings exciting artists and groups from across the DC metro area to the black box theatre for the Silver Spring Series.
