Darius C. Evans
helps organize sailor program Navy Airman Darius C. Evans and fellow sailors aboard the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier have formed a Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions. The CSADD committee is a peer-to-peer monitoring program that is geared toward assisting sailors in making positive decisions in all aspects of life, according to Navy officials. Evans joined the Navy Reserve in January 2011. He is the son of Glanda and Earl C. McLaurin of Avondale and is a 2010 graduate of La Joya Community High School in Avondale.

Robin and Sally Maddux Madduxes celebrate 50 years
Robin and Sally Maddux of Avondale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 28. They were married on July 28, 1962, in Goodyear. They are both natives of Arizona. Mr. Maddux worked as a zanjero at Salt River Project for 42 years. He retired in 2009. Mrs. Maddux was employed by the Littleton Elementary School District as an assistant principal. She retired in 2003. The couple have three children, Matthew, Scott and Jeff; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Matthew Robinson and Amanda Alves Amanda Alves to marry
Matthew Robinson Marie and Derek Alves of Goodyear have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Alves, to Matthew Robinson, the son of Kay and David Robinson of Cave Creek. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Estrella Foothills High School and is employed by APL as a pricing analyst. The bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Cactus Shadows High School and is also employed by APL as a pricing analyst.
The wedding is scheduled for February 2013 at the Windmill Winery in Florence.
