Mark Peacock, head of AA Driving School, said: “Mum and dads’ taxi is still very much in operation as par- ents spend large chunks of their time getting their children to various activ- ities.
at least 50 hours amonth driving each of their children around –equiv- alent to 25 days over ayear, atypi- cal annual leave allowance. With the average number of chil-

“Besides taking up alot of time, parents driving habits can influence the drivers their children will become later in life so it’s important they set agood example on these journeys. “Hopefully many of those hours spent driving the children to their activities will be re-paid when they are old enough to drive themselves and keen to get behind the wheel – even if it’s just popping to the super- market to help their mum out.”
