The ColneValley Railway is apretty line,


almost amile long, with relocated station buildings, signal boxesand bridges all lovingly restored and rebuilt. Alarge and varied collection of opera-


tionalsteam and diesel engines, carriages and wagonsthat represent much of our Railway Heritage aretheretosee and ride on operatingdays. There’saminiatureGarden Railway to


gaze at, whichhas been developed by ColneValley volunteers,and a600 metre long miniaturerailway to ride, which is home to four miniaturelocomotives. The Exhibition Centre shows how the


railways have developedover the years and looksatthe Colne Valley &Halstead Railway'searly history. Take atour of the Travelling Post Office

take aseat in The 'Sidings' Buffet carriage, which is open every day the trainsare run- ning. Pre-booked parties arewelcome in the buffet carriage and staffcan provide a menu to suit any occasion. The railway’sStation Shop is packed with


awide selection of Thomas toys and sou- venirs, as well as books,DVDs and model railway stock.

and Commercial Vehicle Rally on Sunday, July 22; Special Day Out with Thomas days on September29and 30 as well as on October 6; Wizards Evening on October 27 – Spookyfun for children; and Steam with Santa days in December.The days, held on December 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 will see a special train gentlysteaming along its track whilstSanta delivers apresent to every child.
