Become a school speaker…

…and help children make a positive

difference to the world! Viva! and VVF volunteers give school talks all over the UK because speaking in schools is one of the most rewarding things you can do! All are trained and constantly repeat that it is one of the most valuable and enjoyable actions they’ve ever taken to promote vegetarianism/veganism and kindness to animals. Join us on our next School Speaker Training Day at Resource for London,

Holloway Road, on Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 10am-5pm.

The day covers:  Top tips to preparing a school talk.  How to relate to your audience, pace your talk and ensure participation.  How to present a talk.  What to expect from a school talk.  Giving cookery demos (not all talks) – they’re easier than you think!  Tools that will help you give a fabulous, enjoyable talk.  Handy hints for answering questions.

We challenge you not to be inspired and look forward to you becoming a Viva!/VVF school speaker. Don’t worry – you can give as much or little time as you can spare and there are no obligations to become a speaker! “I have given many talks for Viva! and VVF in

secondary schools. I do it because young people have such positive energy – they really enjoy hearing about vegetarianism and especially about the animals. They also love helping to make veggie food and so far they have always devoured the fruits of their labour!” Terry Woods, school speaker. “I was nervous about speaking in schools but

found Viva!/VVF's training day helpful and inspiring. Now I talk in local schools, having been invited back several times. It is fun and such a hugely rewarding, positive action! The kids don’t eat you – just the food you help them make!” Bea Mehta, school speaker. To book a place, email Kat Himmel, or call 0117 944 100 (Mon-Fri, 9-6). The cost is £10 waged, £5 unwaged and includes a vegan lunch. Venue: Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA.
