big Texas size “CONGRATULATIONS” goes

to the Red Hots, the 2012 Robson Ranch Co-ed Softball Spring

League champions. The team, managed by David McKie, took top honors at the fi rst softball tournament held right here at Robson Ranch on our very own fi eld. The two-day event began on Saturday, May 19, 2012, with the seeding of teams for the tournament being determined by their spring league record. The fi rst day was fi lled with single

elimination games and a league-

hosted picnic. On Sunday, May 20, a single game was played between the Red Hots and the White Sox, managed by Kelly Petre, to decide the spring league champions. It was a great game and a wonderful end to a very successful

tournament. Thanks to all the

residents who came out to enthusiastically watch and cheer for their neighbors and friends.

instrumental

There are so many individuals who were in the success of our spring

season. We wish to thank Dean French and Bill Rauhauser, our two dedicated non-player umpires. These two gentlemen gave of their time and expertise to the league throughout the season. Thank you to John Harnly, who so graciously agreed to oversee the website, www.quickscores.com/robsonranch. We also tip our caps to Kelly Petre, Mickey Wynn and Pat Sabo; all played a vital part in tournament planning and set-up. A high fi ve goes to the front gate for allowing us to store our equipment bags in their facility. There are so many more we would like to thank, but, unfortunately, space and word count limits

our ability to do so in print. As we look ahead, we begin to plan for the

fall season. A general/registration meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lone Star room of the clubhouse. Anyone who is even remotely interested in playing, umpiring, or both is encouraged to attend. Ladies, that means you too! The permits have been approved to complete the fi eld, so we will defi nitely be playing our fall schedule right here at Robson. At any moment we should begin to see, among other things, concrete pads being poured for bleachers, a score keeper’s table and a maintenance building. Those residents who have waited to participate until the league played their schedule out here, your time has come. So, step up to the plate and join the fun!
