Millennium Aerials Expand To Become
Millennium Group Millennium Aerials have expanded to become Millennium Group, incorporating new services which include CCTV (security cameras), 2-way Broadband via Satellite and as Millennium Solar Energy Ltd for installation of solar PV panels.
We can supply and install for you an individual solar photovoltaic (PV) panel system to produce electricity for your home and your energy supplier pays you a Feed In
Tariff (FIT) for generating and exporting surplus electricity.
The current rate of FIT is 21p p/kw, but the government will reduce this to 16p p/kw on 1st August 2012. Also being reduced is the period of the FIT payments from the existing 25 years to just 20 years on August 1st, so swift action is needed to benefit for the higher rates. The price of the equipment has also come down in recent times so the installation of solar pv panels has never been such an attractive offer.
Paisley and Gryffe Transport Forum
Interest in the possible future reopening of the former Elderslie/ Kilmacolm railway link continues to grow as we encounter the views of more and more of the people of the Linwood/Brookfield/Bridge of Weir/ Kilmacolm villages.
Since our last report, we have made many contacts within Kilmacolm and so far we have found no one who opposes the return of the railway.
To those who may do so on the grounds that they value the presence of the cycle track (more appropriately called a ‘rural amenity pathway’, we recognise that this will have to be retained even though it will incur extra cost (Drumgelloch to Bathgate line ably demonstrates how this can be achieved).
We have to stress that this reopening is not going to happen overnight - perhaps 7 years would be a reasonable target, but this is no reason for inaction now.
With the holiday period now upon us, we have no plans to call a public meeting to rally support. We now know that this support exists, but we would welcome your formal recognition of your support (or indeed opposition!) by a contact through our email address:

Recognise that the future of sustainable public transport lies in rail!
Other benefits include:
*Solar PV panels reduce your families carbon footprint
*very little maintenance is required, panels are even cleaned by rainfall
*Panels operate silently, are flush to the roof, they are not intrusive to the neighbourhood, no moving parts to cause wear and tear.

Residents To Look Out For Bin Collection Changes
Renfrewshire residents are being urged to look out for new bin-collection calendars dropping through their letterboxes later this month.
On 2nd July, Renfrewshire Council’s waste and recycling collection service will switch from the current Monday to Friday arrangements to a seven-day operation, meaning some residents will have a new date for their kerbside bin collections.
To keep the public informed, the Council has prepared a calendar for each household within Renfrewshire showing the dates their bins need to go out, which should have arrived in the post from 18th June onwards.
But although some kerbside collection dates will change, the weekly collection service itself is not – the dark-grey bin for household waste and the blue bins for recycling will still be collected on alternate weeks, on the same day.
Households with kerbside boxes for glass recycling will see these collected every two weeks instead of every four, with the boxes to go out on the same dates as the blue bins.
The brown bins for garden waste will continue to be collected on the same dates as the blue bins. The garden waste recycling service runs from March until the last recycling bin date in November.
Councillor Jim Harte, Convener of the
council’s Environment and Infrastructure Policy Board, said: “Having kerbside collections over seven days will allow Renfrewshire’s waste diversion and recycling performance to continue to improve, and will also make the best use of our resources.
“I would encourage all local residents to keep an eye out for the calendar being delivered, and to read the contents carefully, as they will clearly explain any changes to their bin-collection dates.
“If anybody would like more information regarding the service, I would encourage them to call the Greener Renfrewshire helpline on 0141 842 4448.”
