There’ll be a sense of Hereford going back to the future at the end of August with the city centre being taken over by a special vintage event.

The Vintage Fayre follows the success of two previous events and is being jointly organised by Hereford City Council and Lizzie May Vintage, Hereford’s leading vintage store run by sisters Fran James-Hill and Sharon Podmore.

“We’ve gathered together an interesting selection of genuine vintage sellers and vintage-inspired make-do- and-mend crafters for this market”, explains Fran.

“Vintage is very diverse and can mean something different to each of us, from clothing to haberdashery, vehicles to entertainment and antique to retro. We hope we’ve encompassed something to please everybody at this, the fi rst ever vintage street fayre in Hereford”.

The fayre will take place in High Town on August 31st from 9.30 to 4.30. There will be a local theatre group providing vintage song and dance and refreshments in the form of ice cream from a traditional pedal-power trike. “Come along and have a look, you never know you might like it. We are trying to bring the past back to the future in Hereford” laughs Sharon Podmore.
