With spring bringing dismal weather in the form of snow and fl oods, and the kids starting to get cranky at the end of term, many families will be counting down the days until they’re jet off for a much-needed break.
A winning combination of a sunny climate,
short flight times of between two and three hours, stunning beaches and reasonably-priced food and drink all make Spain an attractive holiday destina- tion. And, in times when many families are really watching what they spend, the pound’s current strength against the Euro and offers galore are tempting holidaymakers to book a trip to one of the country’s resorts. Benidorm is a fi rm family favourite and the
fun-fi lled destination has seen a surge of interest this year thanks to the return of the ITV series of the same name. Attractions including Terra Mitica Theme Park and Aqualandia Water Park, two south- facing sandy beaches and restaurants for every taste will please all of the family, while a range of accommodation – from budget apartments to luxurious all-inclusive hotels – means you can fi nd the perfect holiday for you.
If your family would prefer a quieter base, the smaller town of Altea, just up the coast, is a popular choice.
