Saturday, June 23 The Pelham Conservation commission is pleased to announce a Dedication Ceremony at the Cutler-Spalding Conservation Area. The conservation area is located off of Spaulding Hill Road and consists of 170 acres of protected land. Volunteers will be working on the property in the near future to prepare it for public use by clearing and marking trails and installing signage. The opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Coffee and snacks will be served, followed by comments from the Forestry Committee, the Cutler Family, the Spalding Family, and Pelham Selectmen. There will also be the unveiling of the sign and a hike through both parcels. Burgers, hotdogs and goulash will be provided by the Pelham Border Riders Snowmobile Club. Driving Directions: from Mammoth Road in Pelham, take Sherburne Road to the top of the hill, then turn right onto Spaulding Hill Road. Pass Nicholas Lane on the right, pass Marie Avenue on the right, then turn right onto a gravel road (part of a new subdivision). Follow the gravel road about 1/4 mile to the trail head parking area at the top of the hill.

Saturday, June 23 The Wheels of Windham DI Car Show and Family Fun Day will be held at Windham High School, 64 London Bridge Road (rain date: June 24). Car Registration will be

Sunday, June 24 The Windham Swing Band, under the direction of Rob Daisy, kicks off the Windham Community Bands’ 15th summer season with a free concert this Sunday

Saturday, June 30 Windham Recreation’s Annual Town Day festivities are set for Saturday, June 30! The fun begins at Griffin Park from noon-3 p.m. with field games, bike and stroller parade,

a cook out, the Windham Community Band, Mad Science®, and more! Then beginning at 7 p.m., the Recreation Department invites you to Windham High School for music by The Hot Tamales followed by fireworks. Sunday, July 1 The Cobbetts Pond Improvement Association is excited to be presenting their Annual Boat Parade and Shore Decorating Event at 1 p.m. This year’s theme will

be Old TV Shows. This is a great opportunity for families and friends to decorate their boats and join the parade. Parade participants are encouraged to be as creative as possible. The dinner will include hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, chili entries, soda, coffee, tea, desserts, etc. There is a cost for the tickets. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The VFW Post is located at 6 Main Street, Pelham. The Boy Scouts will also be doing a Flag Retirement Ceremony. Please bring any flags you wish to have properly retired. Friday, August 10 Join us for the Annual Senior Picnic at Windham High School. This is a fun day for local seniors to enjoy a chicken barbeque and entertainment, hosted by

the Town of Windham employees. Doors open at 11 a.m., with lunch being served around noon. Tickets are available from the Recreation Office (Bartley House) at no charge for Windham Seniors. Tuesday, June 26 The Nesmith Library will hold a Movie Matinee at 1 p.m. featuring a G-rated movie. Children of all ages are invited to the library to view this G-rated remake of the magical fairy tale, The Borrowers.

Starting Wednesday, June 27 The Nesmith Library will hold a Teen Summer Reading Registration and Kick- Off Party. “Own the Night” at the Nesmith Library and enjoy a summer full of night

themed programs, starting on Wednesday, June 27, from 12:30-3 p.m., when we kick-off the Teen Summer Reading Program. Don’t miss special guest, mentalist Chris Bolter, who will blow your mind! His performances are full of high-energy, witty comedy, and jaw-dropping feats of magic! Following the performance, teens will take part in a “make your own sundae” feast. Door prize raffles and bonus book bucks will be offered to all who attend! If you are 12-18 (or entering grade 6-12), grab a friend and join us at the Nesmith Library on June 27 at 12:30 p.m.! Wednesday, June 27 The Pelham Library will celebrate the beginning of our summer reading program for 2012, “Dream Big, Read!” at 6 p.m. at the Summer Concert on the Green.

The Cocabanana Band will be here to play their fun Caribbean music for our entertainment and dancing! Also, if you have registered for the Summer Reading Program here at the library or are still planning on doing this, you can get a free ice cream sundae! This concert, and all of the summer concerts on the Green, are sponsored by the Community Spirit Group here in Pelham. Saturday June 23 The Pelham High School Girls Tennis team is sponsoring a Donation Tennis Tournament. All of the profits will go to the team. The tournament is for all ages. The current schedule is as follows:

Adults will play from 9 a.m.-noon; from noon- 2 p.m. there will be a childrens’ tennis carnival with many games and prizes to be awarded (for ages 12 and under); and teenagers (ages 13-18) will play from 2-5 p.m. Donations must be $5 or more. The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 23 at the PHS tennis courts, 85 Marsh Road, Pelham. To preregister, find forms at www.PHS. Monday, June 25 – Friday, June 29 Pelham Parks and Recreation will offer a Girls Basketball Camp at the Lyons Memorial Park outdoor courts. This girls basketball program is offered Monday

through Friday the week of June 25 from 9 a.m.-noon. It is open to girls ages 7 to 13. This instructional clinic, run by former PHS student Brianne Caira and assisted by Christina DiGiorgio, will be held at Dennis Lyons Memorial Park. An emergency information triplicate card is needed for each girl (ask for it at the Parks and Recreation office). Learn the fundamentals and be taught skills of the game offensively and defensively. Monday, June 25 – Friday, June 29 Pelham Parks and Recreation will hold the Pelham X Skateboard Camp - Summer 2012 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Dennis Lyons Memorial Park Skate/Bike Park in

Pelham. This camp is for boys and girls ages 7 and up, and will cover several skills associated with skateboarding and biking.
