Viewing the brewing Meantime Brewery has a new visitor centre and tasting room and is running more tours following extensive refurbishment of its site. You can look around the centre and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the largest London brewery to open since 1936, and see how beers such as pilsners, wheat beers and stouts are made. There is also a chance to appreciate the drink on a higher level with daily tutored tasting sessions. Classic brewery tours run for two-and-a-half hours on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, and include sampling three half pints (£18 on the day, £15 in advance). Pie and a Pint nights on Fridays evenings (£30) combine a tour with pie and mash and a beer. Bespoke food tasting tours on Thursday and Saturday evenings (£30) include either a three-course dinner or a five- canapé tasting menu with matched beers. For further info see www.meantimebrewing.com.
