description of the possible vehicle and included that information. A short time later a Palmer Police officer spotted a vehicle on IH 45 in Palmer that fit the description and stopped the vehicle and attempted to identify the driver, but the driver fled in the vehicle continuing north on IH
45.The pursuit ended in Wilmer when the driver lost control and ran off the road. The driver and sole occupant left the vehicle and began to run. The driver was quickly apprehended by the Palmer Police officer. The subject apprehended was Perry Lee Ray Ford, a 48 year old black male, from Red Oak, Texas. He was transported to the Ellis County Jail, in Waxahachie, where he is today. The information from the additional offenses in Teague and Corsicana, and later in Ennis have been investigated and analyzed. The similarities in the Fairfield and other robberies were obvious and as a result of the investigation, Perry Lee Ray Ford was considered a person of interest in the Fairfield robbery.
The Fairfield Police
Department, in cooperation with the Teague and Corsicana Police Departments completed their investigation. On June 1, 2012, with the assistance of County/District Attorney Chris Martin and his Criminal Investigator a felony warrant for Aggravated Robbery was applied for. The warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Debra Hamilton, with a suggested bond of $100,000. Perry Lee Ray Ford is currently being held in the Ellis County Jail for Evading Arrest and three Aggravated Robbery warrants (Ellis County, Navarro County, and Freestone County). Submitted by William
