Bike Week 2012

LACONIA 2010 89TH

ANNUAL LACONIA BIKE WEEK IS A STATEWIDE HAPPENING

The 89th Annual La-

conia Motorcycle week is held from Saturday, June 9th through Sunday, June 17th. Originally just a week-

end event with a limited perimeter of events, it has grown to its present nine- day rally with events hap- pening all over the state. The week will kick off

on Saturday, June 9th with the 6th Annual Peter Makris Memorial Run, a fundraiser which is held in honor of the late owner of the NASWA resort, who was a strong supporter of Bike Week. The event has raised over

$100,000 for the Laconia Fire Department’s Life- saving Fund and for Eas- ter Seals of NH Veteran’s Count Club Program. Registration starts at

9am. The ride around Lake Winnipesaukee gets underway at 11am and returns to the NASWA at 1:30 in the afternoon. Throughout the week

there will be a series of breathtaking rides through winding roads, charming small towns, farmland with stunning lake vistas, scenic state parks, and the White Mountain National Forest. The Mount Washington

Auto Road will be a mo- torcycles only event on Thursday, June 14th for its famous “Ride To The Sky” where you can mo- torcycle to the top of the highest peak in the North- easat. There will also be vin-

tage motorcycle races be- ing held at New Hamp- shire Motor Speedway in Loudon on June 15-17th when motorcycle racing is back at the New Hamp- shire Motor Speedway for the 89th running of the Loudon Classic. During this historic event, two- wheeled fans can enjoy three days of side-by-side racing from the profes- sionals of the American SportBike Racing Associa-

tion; the experts, amateurs and novices of the Loudon Road Race Series and the fan-favorite sidecar racers from the Sidecar Racers Association and the Unit- ed States Classic Racing Association. The 1.6-mile road course

is famous for a variety of elevation changes and its challenging 12-turn lay- out. The legendary “Bowl” is one of the most exciting turns in road-course rac- ing, and race fans will get to enjoy some of the best racing seen on any course in the country. Of course, these will be
