BOVEY TRACEY

BOVEY Tracey Activities Trust (BTAT) is a charitable trust run entirely by volunteers. Membership is open to those aged 55+ living within a five-mile radius of Bovey Tracey. Its aim is to encourage those approaching retirement or already retired to continue to enjoy a physically and mentally active lifestyle by participating in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor educational, recreational and social activities.

Membership of the trust is on an annual basis with renewals due each year at the annual meeting. New membership is subject to availability of places after the end of May each year.

Membership numbers are governed by the size of the hall and fire/health and safety issues. Among the activities currently enjoyed by BTAT members are indoor groups (played at the Phoenix Hall) which include card and boardgames such as bridge, cribbage, Rummikub, Scrabble and whist. There are also discussion and book groups, music groups, table tennis, carpet bowls and keep fit classes.

Outdoor activities include pitch and putt, Pétanque and walking groups. Members may bring guests to many of the activities in order to give them the opportunity to experience the ethos of the Trust and assess whether they would like to become members and participate fully in BTAT activities.
