With 638 beds, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is one of the largest tertiary, quaternary care, teaching and research hospitals in the Chicago area. As a Level I trauma center and a Level III perinatal center (the highest designation), Lutheran General Hospital and Lutheran General Children’s Hospital treat nearly 30,000 inpatients, 58,000 emergency patients and 183,000 outpatients each year.

Lutheran General Children’s Hospital is one of the most comprehensive providers of pediatric care in Illinois. The Resurrection Immediate Care Center in Des Plaines treats minor medical problems such as fevers, ear infections, upset stomachs, the flu or colds, sprains or fractures, minor burns, cuts, abrasions and allergic reactions. The Center also provides a variety of medical services, including school, work and Department of Transportation physicals, immunizations, drug and alcohol testing and other services. No appointment is necessary.
