LIFE Apps begin at CCC For those who say, “I wish life came

with an owner’s manual,” Chandler Christian Church Senior Pastor Roger Storms says “It did,” in the form of the Ten Commandments. That’s the basis for what they are calling “LIFE Apps,” and CCC attendees will be learning how to apply these “apps” over the next 10 weeks. Storms says in Exodus 20 and

Deuteronomy 5, readers are reminded of these apps for life: 179 words that “make life make sense and establish the guidelines for our relationship with God and others.” “Of course, God gave us more rules,”

Storms continues. “To be exact, there are 613 Old Testament laws, but really these are just further explanations of the “big 10.” He says Jesus further summarized them in Matthew 22 when asked what was the greatest of the laws. “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your

soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.’ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Storms adds, in reality, Jesus wasn’t

saying these were “greater” than the 10 – in fact, “loving the Lord” fulfills the first 4 of the 10 and “loving your neighbor” fulfills the remaining six of 10. “We live in confusing times. So many

who even call themselves ‘Christian’ are avowing that many of God’s apps are old fashioned and need to be amended or even discarded. Using the very flawed reasoning that there is no ‘absolute truth’ and ‘situational ethics,’ people are creating a god and law of their own making. So, how is that working for the world? Take a look. Watch the news. Look at our world and see the pain in so many lives. Not too great would be my answer!” Storms suggests if people would look

at the apps God gave and apply them, “just maybe, life would make sense.”
